The “Award for Best Practice towards Excellence in Service” was presented to DLS-MY last month by the Board of Quantity Surveyors, the statutory governing body for the QS profession in Malaysia.

Judges commented: “The nurturing of research within a commercial organization is not a task that can be done easily or immediately; it requires vision and direction, and this firm has embarked on its path since the 60s.  In the search of excellence, the firm’s R&D team is tasked with the job of constantly monitoring and identifying the problems that may be present within the various work processes or practices. Solutions to these issues are presented for consideration and often, these solutions would require considerable use of resources…”

They added:  “From the efforts and success of its R&D projects, the firm has the capability of putting in place best practices in the field of quantity surveying, moving towards excellence in service to the construction industry...”
