Judges commented: “Working with blue-chip clients on award-winning projects attracts an enthusiastic workforce – employees give the firm an 80% positive score for allowing them to make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation. Employees give the company a 79% score for its values of integrity, innovation and collaboration and 81% for job security and the same score for recommending the firm to others as a good place to work.”
The Sunday Times league table is the only survey to rank companies according to what their employees say, with questionnaires sent to a random sample of 250 of each company’s employees, asking them searching questions about HR policies, workplace practices, leadership, philosophy and company culture.
In a similar award, Davis Langdon came a close second in the "Best Places to Work in IT 2006" by Computer Weekly, having won the award in 2005.
Rob Smith, Senior Partner of Davis Langdon commented on the firm’s success:
“We believe that we have some of the best people in the industry and we are delighted that they have confirmed that they think our business is pretty good too. Thanks to their efforts, we have maintained our position at the very forefront of our industry. It just shows that great people can create great organisations.”
“Both awards recognise us as a first choice employer – one which offers our people a stimulating and rewarding environment within which to work,” Rob Smith continues. “They also show that great people can create great organisations. It is their talent and commitment that accounts for us working with some of the world’s top designers and clients; it is our people that ensure we are one of the best working with the best in the business. We look forward to working towards an even higher listing in the Sunday Times next year.”
The above two awards build on Davis Langdon’s success in September 2005 when the firm was a recipient of a National Training Award, organised by UK Skills on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). This award recognises and rewards businesses, organisations and individuals who have achieved lasting excellence and success through training and learning and are seen as being number one in their field.
