This project involved the development of a new 3600 square metre two storey teaching facility at a sixth form college in Hampshire.
This was one of the first colleges in Hampshire to be awarded Beacon Status, in recognition of an outstanding OFSTED report praising the quality of teaching and learning.
The high profile £7 million project has provided purpose built facilities for sport, drama, music, dance, media and English. Additional internal reconfiguration formed an internet café and new lecture theatre.
Davis Langdon was appointed in 2004. We rapidly integrated as part of the project team alongside Drivers Jonas, Nick Evans Architects & Scott White Hookins to challenge the design proposals.
Upon initial review the proposals were significantly in excess of the client’s budget, and we used our skills and experience to explore acceptable solutions. The works were carried out in three phases, to suit the college timetable, and completed via a single stage Design & Build procurement route on a fast track pre-contract programme.
As a leading provider of services to the education sector, we were able to draw upon our wide-ranging experience to fulfil our client’s aspirations.
The college was completed on time, within budget, and finished to a high quality standard throughout.
