The new accommodation at Wychfield is the first of seven milestones and the first houses were occupied in October 2006.
The accommodation comprises of a mix of two and three storey accommodation.
The design has achieved a high density of accommodation in a landscaped surround.

Trinity Hall responded to the need to provide additional and better accommodation for its undergraduates, postgraduates and young fellows by embarking on its most ambitious building programme to date named ‘Milestone to the Future’.

The new accommodation at Wychfield is the first of seven milestones and the first houses were occupied in October 2006.  Positioned in a conservation area and desirable residential street in Cambridge, Trinity Hall and its consultants have spent considerable time in discussion with planners and residents to provide a design sensitive to the surrounding landscape and existing buildings.

The completion of the new accommodation allows Trinity Hall the flexibility to increase its student capacity as well as provide decent space from existing property on its central site to allow upgrade and refurbishment work to its Grade I and II listed properties.

The accommodation comprises of a mix of two and three storey accommodation providing 136 en-suite student bedrooms and 11 flats with associated common rooms, together with porters lodge and ancillary areas.

The new build has turned the residential site from North to South with the main entrance to Wychfield switched to the New Porters Lodge.

Particular features of this building are the oak and zinc cladding to the external envelope, a cantilevered study area with picture frame window over the entrance, decorative and high quality external works

The new accommodation was officially opened on 14 July 2007 by BBC journalist Andrew Marr (Trinity Hall 1977-80) to Trinity Hall staff and alumni.  The design has achieved a high density of accommodation in a landscaped surround sensitive to its neighbours and environment.

Davis Langdon was appointed Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor and Planning Supervisor through all stages including operational commissioning.

Davis Langdon managed the project Post Contract by liaising with the construction and client teams, ensuring clear lines of communication were in place. During the commissioning and fit out stages, co-ordination of Trinity Hall’s department heads ensured client supply items were available, delivered and installed to programme.
