Despite the recent office boom, many organisations, particularly in the public sector, continue to occupy ageing and increasingly unsuitable stock, which can affect productivity, staff morale and an organisation’s brand. Property has been identified in HM Treasury’s Operational Efficiency Review as an area for savings through increased efficiency and the disposal of excess space.

Office refurbishment, driven by the three-way agenda of “spend to save”, organisational change and sustainable development will be an element of this strategy.
