A recent survey of the proposed changes on Capital Allowances, organised by leading property tax and finance specialist Davis Langdon Crosher and James, has revealed that nearly 70% of respondents think that the  withdrawal of IBA’s (Industrial Building Allowances) will have a negative impact on their businesses.

New Tax Reliefs available to Businesses and Investors – Changes for 2008.

The Treasury has announced proposals which should give a welcome boost to tax payers who own or invest in commercial property, advises leading capital allowances specialist Davis Langdon Crosher & James.

The Treasury has now published a consultation document "Business tax reform: capital allowances changes" about the changes announced in the Budget.

The Court of Appeal has held that a building used by a business that imported door and window components manufactured by its Austrian parent for resale in the UK qualifies for industrial building allowances.

Whilst developers may not currently see sustainable design as a key driving force behind the development of a new dealership, the introduction of Part L 2006 and a more educated population has resulted in a need for motor dealerships to become more ‘sustainable’ in design.
