Following an intense selection process, Davis Langdon has successfully secured a commission to provide cost control services to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for their main museum renovation and expansion design by Frank Gehry. This project is intended to expand the existing 500,000 square foot Museum by 177,000 gross square feet and will include the renovation of all existing public space, the Visitor’s Services spaces, the existing auditorium (or potentially replace with a 450-seat auditorium) and the administrative and back of house areas. The current exhibition space will be expanded with an underground addition and the construction of a new public entrance for the building and the upgrade all existing building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems will also be included.
